Join artist Rachel Grace for a relaxed and creative evening/afternoon exploring the wonderful world of nature journaling.
Nature journaling isn't about creating perfect drawings. It's about noticing the little things we might otherwise walk straight past – the shape of an acorn, the colours hidden in a rosehip, the delicate structure of a seed head or the changing shades of an autumn leaf.
During this gentle, beginner-friendly workshop, we'll experiment with quick observational sketches, seasonal colour palettes, handwritten notes and observations, before bringing everything together to begin your own beautiful autumn nature sketchbook.
We'll work with a collection of seasonal treasures such as leaves, berries, acorns, feathers and seed heads, learning simple techniques for capturing shape, colour and detail without getting caught up in making everything perfect. We’ll be working with coloured pencils, watercolours and ink.
You'll leave with your own nature sketchbook already underway, plenty of ideas and prompts for filling future pages, and a new way of noticing the wildlife and changing seasons around you.
No previous drawing experience is needed. This workshop is all about curiosity, creativity and enjoying the process.
All materials are provided, including your own A5 sketchbook to take home and continue your nature journaling adventures.
